When searching for civils jobs internationally there are many challenges to the professional engineer.
One example of this is the varying qualification, regulatory and local codes which are not always completely transferable abroad. For example in Australia a qualified UK electrician will often have to complete a course to transfer their qualifications to form the UK certificates to the Australian standards. This often comes at quite a heavy cost and i have came across many European specialist have been forced to complete expensive courses to have their skills recognised.
However it is important not to give up. There are so many opportunities in Civil Engineering out there that often companies are willing to overlook these issues or to provide the necessary training in order to employ someone with your skills.
